DIY Decorative Mirror Frame for Wall Decor

One of our favorite parts about the springtime are the flowers to come to bloom. The long winter months can get drab and dreary at times we could not be more excited to begin the new season with all the pretty scenery and colors. Soaking in the sunshine and viewing all the lovely flowers lining the fields and streets are a great inspiration. And this week at iLoveSexy Blog, we were inspired by the upcoming season and have come up with a gorgeous DIY decorative mirror for this week’s tutorial. Perfect for adding a touch of glamour, this  DIY decorative mirror makes the perfect accent piece to your home. Gluing flowers to the mirror instantly turns it into a vintage work of art and can really add light and depth your space. DIY Decorative Mirror - What you will need

 

What you will need:

Plain mirror with a frame
Fake Flowers
Spray paint
Scratch paper
Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors
Tape

 

DIY Decorative Mirror - Step 1

1. Cover the mirror by overlapping pieces of scratch paper and taping them together.

2. Spray an even coat of paint on the mirror frame.

3. While the paint on the mirror is drying, remove the fake flowers from their stems. You should be able to pull them off with relative ease, as demonstrated in this picture but if not, you can cut them from the stem.

4. Gather the flowers you wish to decorate your mirror with. Try to find a variety of flowers in different sizes if you can.

5. Spray an even coat of paint onto the flowers, making sure that flower is covered completely. Repeat this step for two to three coats, if needed.

6. Once everything has dried, this is how your materials should look. Doesn’t the gold paint make everything look so regal?

7. Now it’s time to start decorating! Glue the flowers to the mirror frame in whatever fashion you would like. To keep things simple, we covered two corners of the mirror. But you can decorate all four corners or even the entire frame if you’d like.

8. To give the flowers a little more dimension and sparkle, we glued a cascading design with rhinestones to the frame and a few to the flowers.

DIY Embellished Sunglasses

Although the spring and summer months are still a long way ahead, that doesn’t stop most retailers from unveiling their latest trends to come this year. Whether you’re still holding onto the winter or looking forward to a warm spring, it’s never too late to start getting ready for the upcoming season. One trend that’s sure to be a hit this year are embellished sunglasses. Hailing from last year’s fashion runway, the couture version of embellished sunglasses have made their way into stores but still cost quite a fortune. But for this week’s tutorial at iLoveSexy Blog, we have come up with a quick and easy way to recreate your very own DIY embellished sunglasses. Wear them as part of a casual look, rock them at a music festival as part of your rave outfits or even accessorize your sexy swimwear for a pool party. DIY Embellished Sunglasses - what you will need

 

What you will need:

Sunglasses
Embellishments (faux flowers, half pearls, rhinestones)
Hot glue gun
Scissors

 

1st Pair – Flower Embellished Sunglasses

1. Cut your fake flowers from their stems. Gather as many as you need to create your favorite design.

2. Dispense a small amount of hot glue onto the sunglasses.

3. Press the fake flower against the sunglasses and let the hot glue dry.

4. Take a rhinestone and apply a small amount of glue. Press it against the sunglasses. Repeat this step as necessary until you have your desired design.

There you have it with the first pair! We are seriously digging the fake flowers against the classic black cat-eye design. Perfect for a music festival such as Coachella or Electic Daisy Carnival, these DIY embellished sunglasses are sure make a splash.

1. Dispense a small line of hot glue along the top of the sunglasses. You may want to do this step in sections. Place your pearls on top of the glue and press it tightly. Wait for the glue to dry.

And we are finished! For all of you aviator loving girls, this pair of DIY embellished sunglasses add a sophisticated touch to an otherwise ordinary pair. These sunglasses would also look great with a line of rhinestones as well.
