Wow, can you believe that 2014 is just around the corner? It’s been an amazing year at iLoveSexy and we are happy to say how blessed we have been to gain and interact with so many new followers. While we are excited to start the new year, we are definitely looking forward to partying like rock stars on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve is the time to get dolled up, put on your dancing shoes and paint the town with your closest friends. Choosing the perfect outfit can seem like a daunting task when there are so many different styles to pick from. We, at iLoveSexy, wanted to start off 2014 with a bang, which is why we came up with this trendy DIY studded shorts tutorial to help get the party started. These DIY studded shorts are fun, edgy and look great when paired with an eye-catching sequinned top. The best part about creating these shorts is that you can design them in many different ways to suit the style you are going for. Whether you want to go edgy and eclectic for a party or casual for going out and about, the possibilities are endless. So let’s ring in the new year and get started on our tutorial!
What you will need:
A pair of shorts
1. Determine where you would like to place your stud. Make sure that it is aligned straight and not lopsided before pressing the stud into the shorts.
2. Press the stud through the fabric until both tines are poked through.
3. Use the pliers to bend the tines and secure them into place. They should be firmly imbedded into the material and should not be able to be moved or wiggled in place.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 until you have finished studding your shorts. Please note that you do not have to follow our design stud by stud and we definitely encourage you to search for other ideas for inspiration. While we have to admit that our design is quite popular, there are so many different ways to create a pair of DIY studded shorts. You can spread out the studs all across the shorts and not limit them to just the pockets. You can even stud the front pocket of the shorts for a rocker, vintage vibe. And don’t forget, you can also get studs in different sizes and shapes, such as stars.
New Year’s Eve is the time to say goodbye to the current year and welcome in a new one. The best way to celebrate, in our opinion, is to celebrate in style. Studded clothes always make a great fashion statement and would be amazing at any festive New Year’s Eve events. Rock a pair of these gorgeous studded shorts and you’ll definitely look like the life of the party. So what did you think of this week’s tutorial? Is this something you are interested in creating for an upcoming party? What do you plan to wear for this New Year’s Eve? Will you be attending any fun and special events? And most importantly, what are your resolutions for the new year? We hope you have had an amazing 2013 and will see you again next week for another new DIY tutorial! Happy New Year!
